At upcoming learning centre, coffee’s a perk

Drop off the kids, pick up a free coffee.

That’s the trade parents will be able to make each morning at the new Oceanside Early Learning Centre. The $3 million facility will have a parents’ lounge, support hub and freshly baked meals prepared each day by an on-site chef.

Marketing manager Jenny Hovey said the centre would create a benchmark for early learning in the Oceanside area. She said the parents lounge and free coffee would provide a sense of community for parents and staff and she hopes parents have the opportunity to network with one another, especially parents who are new to the community.

“Particularly for families who are experiencing childcare for the first time, the biggest thing is for them is to connect with other families in the lounge,” Hovey said. “We believe the centre will provide an invaluable support network, enabling parents to build lasting relationships within the learning community.”

She explained that the centre was designed and constructed with the community in mind and offers a boutique solution that fits the community. “For us, it’s offering state-of-the-art services [along with] the technology that we provide in the centre and attracting the right staff, who are passionate about taking children through the learning journey,” she said.

Oceanside Early Learning Centre will open its doors on November 30.
