Teacher-parent communication fosters better collaboration between school and home contributing positively to a child’s academic success, an expert explains.

Dr Denise Chapman, a lecturer at Monash University, specialising in early childhood education, literacy, and digital technologies spoke to education editor Antonia Maiolo about the importance of creating meaningful partnerships between caregivers and educators throughout the schooling life of a child.

Chapman, who is currently involved in community and school-based projects that focus on transformative parent-teacher partnerships, pointed to the use of digital technology to support families of children with diverse needs and their teachers.
