Newly proposed reforms to early childhood education and care will be introduced by the NSW government, with a free forum to be held for interested child care service providers on Tuesday 11 June.
The results of the recent Brennan report on the NSW government funding of early childhood education, conducted by professor Deborah Brennan, urged the NSW government to consult early childhood education and care sector on new funding that will improve access and fairness for all.
Child care service providers wishing to know about the government’s plans can offer their comments and feedback at a joint forum on 11 June 2013 from 5–7pm at the Sydney Masonic Centre at 66 Goulburn St, Sydney.
The forum will be hosted by child care organisations and sector service providers like Community Child Care, Australian Community Children’s Services NSW, Big Fat Smile, Children First, Children’s Services Community Management, Community Connections Solutions Australia, Early Childhood Australia NSW, Ethnic Child Care, Family and Community Services, Goodstart Early Learning, Gowrie NSW, Independent Education Union (NSW/ACT), KU Children’s Services, Mobile Children’s Services Association of NSW, SDN Children’s Services, United Voice (NSW Branch) and UnitingCare Children’s Services.
Those who are interested to participate should visit the Community Child Care Cooperative website at www.ccccnsw.org.au/events to register for the event. Interested individuals who will not be able to go to Sydney may also watch the live video of the forum at the website.Do you have an idea for a story?
