Children’s education and care educators in Perth and surrounds will have the opportunity to learn more about the National Quality Framework and excellence at a seminar tonight.
The Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority (ACECQA) is in Western Australia this week as part of its national Excellence Tour.
ACECQA Chief Executive Officer Karen Curtis said Western Australia was the second stop on the national Excellence Tour and ACECQA would visit all states and territories within the next six months.
“The Excellence Tour will showcase services that are characterised by excellence and inspire and encourage services to strive for excellence,” Ms Curtis said.
“Almost 200 educators have reserved a spot at our Educator Seminar in Perth tonight to hear the latest data on quality ratings, learn more about the quality rating process, find out about the changes to qualification requirements and hear from an Excellent rated service director.
“The Excellent rating is only given to services that have received an overall rating of Exceeding the National Quality Standard and which demonstrate outstanding commitment to children’s education and care outcomes.”
While in Western Australia, Ms Curtis and other ACECQA representatives will meet with stakeholders and visit selected preschool, long day care, family day care and outside school hours care services.
“This is a great opportunity to see the progress services are making in embedding the NQF and to talk to educators about the many different ways services are raising the bar on quality,” Ms Curtis said.
ACECQA will also travel to Kalgoorlie during the Excellence Tour in Western Australia to visit services and host an Educator Seminar there on Wednesday 20 November.Do you have an idea for a story?
